How we research and source our content

Who Writes This Site

HVAC Install Hub is a referral service, not an HVAC contractor. We do not install, repair or test equipment, and we have no first-hand installation experience. Our guides are not written by HVAC technicians, engineers or other credentialed experts, so we do not publish author names or credentials. Treat what you read here as a starting point, and confirm the details for your home with your contractor, utility or local permit office.

Where Our Facts Come From

We build pages from primary and official sources wherever they exist: the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA, ENERGY STAR, the IRS, state energy codes, utilities, and city and county permit offices. Installed-cost figures come from published cost guides, and each figure names its source. Sources are cited inline, next to the fact they support, with the source's date where it gives one, so you can check them yourself.

If we cannot find a credible source for a figure or claim, we remove it rather than estimate it. Where a location page has a local section, it cites at least three sources and links the city's official permit page.

Checks Before Anything Is Published

Every change to the site runs through automated tests before it goes live. They block a dollar figure in a guide that has no source named next to it, and they block wording that promises what a contractor will do or claims that contractors are licensed or vetted. We do not check contractors' licenses, so we never say we do.

How We Use AI

AI tools assist with our research and drafting. Every fact is checked against the source it is cited to before it is published, and a claim that cannot be traced to a credible source is cut.

Review Dates

Guides and city sections show a Last reviewed date. It is the day their facts were last checked against their sources, not the day the page was rebuilt or restyled. Prices, rebates, codes and utility programs change, so check the date before relying on a figure.

How We Are Paid

Our revenue model is pay-per-lead. No equipment brand or manufacturer pays for coverage, and we use no affiliate links. See About Us for how the referral service works.
